a) Is there a membership fee?
No, there isn’t. Becoming a member of History for Peace is absolutely free!
b) I am not a teacher. Can I still become a member?
Yes, you can. Membership is open to those who are committed to teaching and learning history for peace and understanding.
c) As a member, do I have any responsibilities?
Yes, you do. You and/or the institution that you are a part of must commit to organising at least 2 events in a year on the overarching theme of history for peace and understanding. These events need to reach out to as many educators as is possible for you. You will need to inform us about these events so that we can announce it on the History for Peace website. You will also need to document these events and send us reports so that we may put it up on the website. Full credit for text and photographs will be given.
As a member we will also ask you be an active part of the discussions that take place and contribute to the lesson ideas section on the website.
We hope that the website will act as a space for meaningful discussions and building a community of educators and look forward to you and your institution being a part of it.
