Historiana.edu, an excellent web resource for history and social science teachers, came up with a pertinent learning activity: using case studies to analyse sources and develop a better grasp of displacement as a process. The lesson plan includes teacher guidelines, a list of sources, a research sheet and a student worksheet.

Use the lesson plan above and adapt the sources to include these case studies from the Humans of Assam series by Scroll.in to bring discussions around the Assam NRC, its repercussions for Assam and its implications for the rest of India — both in terms of its people as well as its status as a ‘Secular Democratic Republic’, into the classroom.
