About the Event
Over the years, we at History for Peace have been working to create resources that facilitate the teacher in going beyond the constraints of the textbook, and in drawing the arts and lesser explored narratives and histories into the classroom to supplement existing syllabi. But at what points can one depart from the textbook, diversify and expand a student's horizons without losing the necessary focus of the topic? The balance is both delicate and difficult.
We now bring you a three-session series for school History educators that we hope will guide you towards that balance. Designed and to be facilitated by teaching practitioner and faculty member at Pathways School, Dr. Shivangi Jaiswal (Ph.D., JNU), 'Between Teaching and Learning' is an interactive series focused on the whens and hows of practical and informed choice-making in the classroom. The series will comprise three sessions including a guest lecture by historian Janaki Nair.
School teachers and teachers-in-training will be prioritized.
Last date for registration is 8 December, 12 p.m. IST
