About the Event

'The Idea of Nationalism'- An International Conference on Teaching History is the second annual History for Peace conference. The programme, hosted by PeaceWorks, was held on 10,11 and 12 November 2016 at The Harrington Street Arts Centre, Calcutta. Speakers included Sadanand Menon, Prof Janaki Nair, Prof Anil Sethi, Jerry Pinto, Rajni Bakshi, Malik Sajad and Deepa Sreenivas. The conference reached out to educators from all over India and the subcontinent and addressed one of the most contested ideas of this century: Nationalism.
