Dear Teachers!

Here are a couple of sites that would make interesting curtain-raisers/conversation starters in the classroom. Screen these short videos for students and let them ask questions, share insights and discuss issues.

I’m taking the liberty of suggesting a few ideas to get the conversations started! Who makes social systems? How can unjust systems be changed? (Discuss the system change from segregation in schools in the US to integration) What systems need to be changed in our society? Who can change them?

The second video is perfect to discuss our biases, prejudices and generate introspection…

What happens when we have a ‘single story’ about a person or community? What happens when others have a ‘single story’ about us? How can we know more about each other and share our multiple stories with others?

Would love to hear about your experiences in the classroom! Do post and share with us!
